About
About Focus Stacks
A focus stacker that runs where the photographs already are: on your computer, in the browser you already have.
Why a browser
Every good focus stacker was a desktop program, most of them Windows-only, and the one that ran online sent every frame to a server and capped the count. Modern browsers can do this arithmetic on your own processor at full resolution, which means no install, no upload, no cap, and no server bill that has to be paid by limiting what you can stack. Focus Stacks is that program.
How it is paid for
By advertising on the guide pages and below a finished result — never between you and the tool, never during a run, and only after you have chosen where consent is required. There is no paid tier, no account and no watermark. If a paid export ever appears it will be an extra, and the free stacker will stay free at full resolution.
Who
Focus Stacks is built and run by Focus Stacks's publisher, a small studio that makes browser-local tools for photographers and other people whose files should not have to travel. Its sibling tools are linked from the guide pages. Write to support@focusstacks.com.
